Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, directed by Steven Caple Jr is the seventh installment in the Transformers series released in 2023. The plot follows an electronics expert and an artifact specialist as they team up with the Autobots and the Maximals to protect a Key from the villainous Terrorcons.

Scourge’s quest is driven by the desire to punish offenders. The quest borrows events from the tale of Duryodhan in Hindu mythology. Duryodhan’s treacherous attempts to take over the kingdom is similar to Scourge attempts to acquire the Keys.

Optimus borrows events from the tale of Ram in Hindu mythology. Both Ram & Vivian decimate “demons” who threaten the social order.
Mirage & Bumblebee borrows few events from the tale of Hanuman in Hindu mythology. Similar to Hanuman, they demonstrate loyalty, showing a willingness to sacrifice themselves.
Maximals driven by the desire of Preservation borrow a few events from the tale of Noah in Abrahamic mythology.

They represent human behaviours that are deeply embedded in our shared memories. Each tale is the richest expression of the pursuit of a human desire. The tales have a unique pattern of events spread over 5 major arcs.
Mapping a character’s quest to the relevant mythological tale reveals the gaps in their quest, if any. Plugging these gaps with the missing events deepens the character quest. The missing events also provide an opportunity for interweaving the various quests. These events strengthen the story and unlock its hidden potential.
